Tuesday, August 25
  1. Final copy of fictional narrative with rough draft, revisions, brainstorming and decorative border due tomorrow.  Remember to follow the COMPOSITION STYLE SHEET.
     2. Test on 21-40 "Frequently Misspelled Words" test on Friday.

Week of August 19-21

Wednesday, August 19

Welcome to Blach! Please make sure to bring the following supplies for Friday:
  • "marble cover" composition notebook (not spiral)
  •  section of your binder or a separate binder for Language Arts
  •  binder paper- you will need this all year
  • colored pencils, regular pencils and highlighters
  • Post-Its (large)
  1. DUE FRIDAY-signed portion of Welcome Letter. Make sure you keep the rest to refer to throughout the year.
  2. TEST NEXT TUESDAY-Study words 1-20 of the frequently misspelled words.
  3. If you take your name tag home to decorate, don't forget to bring it to class for the first two weeks.

Thursday, August 20
  1. DUE TOMORROW-Write a letter to yourself about what you expect this year to be like as well as any goals you have set for yourself. FOLLOW THE COMPOSITION STYLE SHEET.  Bring an envelope in which to place your letter with the brainstorming, rough draft, and revisions. The body of your letter should be about a quarter of a page double- spaced.
  2. DUE TOMORROW-signed portion of Welcome Letter.
  3. DUE TOMORROW-supplies. We will begin writing in the journal tomorrow.
  4. TEST NEXT TUESDAY
